Ryan Gosling Responds to Kevin Feige’s Reaction to His Dream Marvel Role
Ryan Gosling hasn’t given up hope on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He still dreams of portraying a Marvel superhero in live-action. As The Multiverse Saga introduces new heroes and villains, more actors enter the MCU. Despite its growing roster, many Hollywood actors are interested in joining the franchise.
In a recent Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast episode, Gosling was asked if he had heard from Kevin Feige about playing Ghost Rider following the Marvel Studios president’s endorsement. While Gosling hasn’t received any updates yet, he remains eager to portray Ghost Rider in the MCU and even shares playful banter with Emily Blunt.
Ryan Gosling: I don’t know. I would love to, it would be amazing. Come in [and] be Ghost Rider.
Emily Blunt: I thought we wore it as a badge of honor that we weren’t in superhero movies.
Ryan Gosling: No, you do.
Why Ryan Gosling Is Perfect To Play Johnny Blaze
Though it remains to be seen if Gosling will ever be cast in the MCU, Ghost Rider would be an ideal role for him. Johnny Blaze, an intense character in the Marvel universe, possesses charisma and wit. These qualities have been evident in Gosling’s performances over the last decade.
Gosling has proven himself a natural action star, making him an excellent fit for Ghost Rider, one of Marvel’s more entertaining supernatural characters. His recent performance in The Fall Guy showcases his ability to handle the physical demands of such a role. Whether starring in a standalone Ghost Rider movie or participating in a Midnight Sons project, Gosling offers many exciting possibilities for the MCU if Feige casts him.
It would also be intriguing to see Gosling’s Johnny Blaze alongside Gabriel Luna’s Robbie Reyes, bringing the two Ghost Riders together in the MCU. With the supernatural aspect of the MCU still developing, it’s only a matter of time before Ghost Rider becomes a significant player. Hopefully, Gosling will get his chance to play Ghost Rider during or after The Multiverse Saga.
