Due to an upper-body injury, the Dallas Stars will again be without their crucial centre, Roope Hintz, for the pivotal Game 6 against the Colorado Avalanche —DENVER (AP). This marks Hintz’s second consecutive missed game in this crucial second-round series. The Stars can secure a spot in the Western Conference Final for the second straight year with a win on Friday night.

After blocking a shot in the first period, the 27-year-old was injured during Monday’s 5-1 victory in Colorado. Hintz had also endured a heavy cross-check from Nathan MacKinnon earlier in that game. Despite his injuries, Hintz has contributed significantly this postseason, recording two goals and four assists in 11 games.

The Colorado Avalanche will also be missing a vital player, centre Yakov Trenin, due to an upper-body injury sustained in their 5-3 win at Dallas on Wednesday. Trenin’s defensive prowess, particularly on the penalty kill, will be sorely missed by the Avalanche. Coach Jared Bednar has classified Trenin’s status as day-to-day, providing no certainty on his availability for the remainder of the series.

Both teams will need to adapt quickly to the absence of these key players. The Stars will look to rally and secure their advancement, while the Avalanche must compensate for losing Trenin’s defensive skills to stay competitive in this high-stakes matchup.
