Anthony Martial has officially announced his departure from Manchester United, concluding his nine-year tenure with the club. The French forward’s contract expires this summer, and he will leave as a free agent.


Martial shared his heartfelt goodbye on Instagram, stating, “It’s with great emotion that I write to you today to say goodbye. After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career.”


He further expressed, ‘Manchester United will forever hold a special place in my heart. This club has significantly shaped my career and provided me with an incredible platform to perform in front of you. While I am leaving to embrace new challenges, I will always be a Red Devil and will continue to follow the club’s progress with passion. Once again, thank you for everything, and I look forward to our paths crossing again.’


Martial’s final appearance for Manchester United was on December 9, 2023, in a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth.


Since joining Manchester United from Monaco for £36 million in September 2015, Martial has made 317 appearances and scored 90 goals across all competitions. During his illustrious time at the club, he brought home the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup, and the Europa League, leaving a legacy of success.
